Maria Sarkisian, Founder & Executive Director
Maria, originally from Armenia and raised in San Francisco, relocated to Yerevan in October 2020 to contribute to humanitarian aid efforts during the Artsakh war. In her role, she oversees building partnerships, identifying and executing projects, managing fund distribution, and maintaining transparent communication with donors about the allocation of resources.
Maria holds a Bachelor of Science in Environmental Toxicology, a Master of Science in Forensic Science, and a Ph.D. in Forensic Toxicology and Chemistry.
Narek Ghazaryan, Director of operations
Born in Armenia and raised in San Francisco, Narek is a firm believer in the transformative power of storytelling. As the Chief Communications Officer at the American University of Armenia (AUA), he specializes in marketing and branding with a focus on creating meaningful experiences. Driven by a passion for social entrepreneurship, he is dedicated to supporting initiatives that drive significant societal change.
In his role, Narek oversees fostering collaborations, drafting contracts, and identifying opportunities for new projects.
Vahagn Kocharyan,
MARKETING DIRECTOR
Vahagn was born in Armenia during the first Artsakh war and is the son of one of Armenia’s fallen heroes. During the 2020 war, he dedicated himself to locating and providing essential aid to families affected by the conflict. At Miaseen, Vahagn leads all graphic design efforts, including creating logos, newsletters, and social media content, while also overseeing the implementation of projects in Armenia.
He holds a Bachelor’s degree in Public Relations, Marketing, and Digital Communications from Manchester Metropolitan University and a Graphic Design qualification from Shillington College.
Narek Brutyan, Heros Helper & Project Coordinator
Narek, born and raised in Armenia, plays a vital role in coordinating projects and fostering collaborations with local organizations. During Miaseen's sponsorship program, he served as the primary point of contact, ensuring the delivery of aid and essential supplies to families in need. Currently, he is responsible for implementing projects on the ground and strengthening partnerships with community stakeholders.
Narek also served two years in the Armenian Army and volunteered to fight in the 2020 Artsakh war, spending 55 days on the front lines.
